Amazon has announced the opening of a large distribution warehouse located in Seaford.
The 104,000 square foot warehouse located on Dulaney Street was formerly a nylon plant for DuPont.
The location is expected to bring hundreds of full and part time jobs, starting at $15 an hour.
Officials say they plan for the location to open in May of this year.
“We are very happy Amazon chose Seaford.” said Mayor David Genshaw. He continued “The creation of new jobs is a huge win for our city and beyond. We look forward to working with them in their efforts to better serve their customers here on Delmarva.”
This is not Amazon’s first recent expansion in Delaware. The company recently opened a major warehouse in New Castle County.
