The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a serious fire that broke out at a home in Fruitland early on Friday morning.
Officials say the blaze broke out around 4:47 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of Graydon Lane in Fruitland. It took 25 firefighters about an hour to get the one alarm fire under control. It was initially spotted by a passerby, who reported it it authorities. There were two occupants of the home but no one was injured.
The fire caused $120,000 in damages to the structure and $30,000 in damages to its contents. The area of origin and the case remain under investigation.
